Build something useful. Learn a better way of working with AI.
The Hora app guides you through real projects with AI, stage by stage, using a structure that sharpens your thinking as you work.
A project management system for learning to build with AI.
Hora guides you through the full lifecycle of a real project. All project data stays on your device. No account, no subscription, and completely free.
Installable as a PWA on any device. Works offline after install.
Works with Everything
Use the Hora app with your preferred AI applications, or learn to use something completely new. Get started with zero setup and full guidance along the way.
Every project you build also builds your skills.
Hora moves the project forward. The structure behind it develops judgment in the person doing the work.
You always know what to do next.
Hora breaks the project into five focused stages. Each one has a defined purpose and a defined set of questions. You work one layer at a time, with the right questions surfacing at the right moment.
The questions an experienced builder would ask.
One of the hard parts of building for the first time is not knowing what you don't know. Each stage surfaces the questions an experienced builder would pause at: constraints with hidden consequences, architecture decisions worth examining twice, build risks worth naming before the work begins.
An AI that already knows your project.
Every prompt Hora generates is assembled from your prior work: your goal, your constraints, your architecture, your build plan. You never re-explain the context. The AI at each stage is responding to your specific project, not a generic version of a problem it has seen before.
Your reasoning, captured as you go.
The thinking that shapes a project is easy to lose. Hora captures it: decisions prompted at key moments in each stage, session notes that accumulate across the build, a complete record of what you chose and why. When you return to the project or hand it off, the reasoning is there.
Sharper thinking with every project.
Working through a project this way requires you to put your reasoning in writing, account for your decisions, and reflect on what worked. What develops is a better way of working with AI that carries to every project after this one, whether you're collaborating with AI, or colleagues, or both.
Every decision stays with you.
Hora generates the prompts and structures the stages. It does not make the decisions and it does not outsource decision-making to AI. Every stage puts you in conversation with an AI that surfaces options and responds to your context. You evaluate, you choose. Hora keeps the record.
What You Can Do with It
Start with a problem to solve and willingness to learn. Expertise is optional. Technical knowledge is unnecessary.
Portfolio Atlas
A personal investment management system with multi-institution aggregation, institutional-grade performance analytics, Monte Carlo retirement planning, and tax-optimized withdrawal strategies. Built on Python and SQLite. No AI at runtime.

Phonics App
A family-private adaptive literacy app built for pre-K learners, delivering a comprehensive phonics curriculum grounded in Science of Reading principles. Where off-the-shelf apps offer linear progression, this one silently reroutes struggling learners through a 5-mode adaptive engine and returns them to the right lesson without interruption. Tracks phonemic awareness and phonics mastery as separate skills. Parent dashboard includes per-phoneme progress charts, confusion-pair analysis, and coaching prompts for at-home practice.

DinnerReady!
Built because no meal planning app could handle the constraint complexity real families actually have. A backtracking solver generates up to 50 valid weekly plans against configurable rules: cooldown periods, cuisine and category limits, consecutive-day restrictions, seasonal filtering, and cook-time preferences. Four-week lookback prevents week-to-week repetition. Grocery list aggregates by department with cross-device sync and a Shopping Mode that keeps your screen on at the store.

CashLens
Most budgeting apps start at your bank account. CashLens starts at your paycheck, tracking payroll deductions and taxes before a dollar hits your account. No live bank connections: CSV import handles various bank formats, and all data stays local for maximum privacy. Features include a cashflow Sankey diagram, scenario simulator, spending analysis, split transactions, recurring expense calendar, and budget-vs-actual tracking.
Ideas for your first project.
The best first project is a problem you are already annoyed enough to solve. Start wherever something sounds like yours, or come up with your own.
